This Privacy Policy explains how Spellbinder LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("Spellbinder," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and stores personal information when you use Spellbinder's website, applications, content, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Spellbinder, we may collect:

Information you provide directly

account information such as your email address and chosen username;
profile information such as display name, avatar, bio, social links, and profile visibility settings;
user content such as decklists, deck titles, deck descriptions, collection data, binder names and descriptions, bookmarks, notes, and related preferences;
files and related metadata if you upload an avatar or other profile media we support;
communications you send us, including contact form submissions and support messages.

If you sign in with email, Google, Discord, or another provider we support, we may receive information needed to authenticate you and operate your account, such as your email address, provider identifier, account display information, and provider avatar URL.

Information collected automatically

We may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, such as:

IP address and related request metadata used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting;
device, browser, request, and diagnostic information contained in server logs and error reports;
authentication, session, and preference information stored through cookies or similar technologies;
on-device preferences stored in local or session storage, such as theme choices, table settings, search/filter state, or certain authentication and redirect state.

Information visible from public content

If your profile, decks, collection, or binders are set to public, the information you choose to publish may be visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines or other crawlers.

2. How we use your information

We may use personal information to:

provide, maintain, secure, and improve Spellbinder;
create and manage user accounts and user-generated content;
authenticate users and support account recovery or account linking;
personalize the service, including remembering preferences and visibility settings;
process avatar uploads and serve profile media;
respond to support requests, feedback, and contact form submissions;
prevent fraud, abuse, spam, unauthorized access, and other harmful activity;
comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We may share personal information in the following circumstances:

Service providers and infrastructure

We use third-party providers to operate Spellbinder, such as:

Supabase for authentication, database, and account infrastructure;
Cloudflare R2 and related CDN/storage infrastructure for user-uploaded avatar storage and delivery;
Resend for contact and support email delivery;
hosting, security, and infrastructure providers that help us operate the Service.

These providers may process personal information on our behalf for the limited purpose of delivering their services to us.

If you make content public, we may display it publicly and it may be accessible to other users, search engines, and third parties who access public pages.

If you use Google, Discord, or another third-party sign-in method, that provider's own privacy policy also applies. If you click outbound marketplace, retailer, or other external links, those third parties may collect information directly from you, including through their own cookies or tracking tools. Some of those links may include affiliate or referral parameters so the third party can attribute traffic or purchases to Spellbinder.

Legal and business transfers

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Spellbinder uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and feature functionality. We also use browser storage for certain interface preferences and temporary authentication state. We do not currently state that Spellbinder uses non-essential analytics or advertising cookies. 5. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to maintain accounts, operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information. For example, account and profile data may be retained while your account is active, public content may remain visible until you remove it or your account is deleted, support messages may be retained for support and recordkeeping purposes, uploaded avatar files may remain until replaced or removed, and certain logs, backups, or cached copies may persist for a limited period after deletion.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable exceptions.

You may also be able to:

update parts of your profile and account settings from within Spellbinder;
change the visibility of your public profile and some public-facing content;
delete your account using available account settings;
request a copy of certain personal information or ask us to correct or delete it, where applicable;
control cookies and local storage through your browser or device settings.

8. California privacy notice

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California law, including the right to know, access, correct, or delete certain personal information, subject to exceptions. Depending on the circumstances, you may also have the right to request information about the categories of personal information we collect, the categories of sources we collect it from, the business purposes for using it, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.

In the preceding 12 months, the categories of personal information described in this Privacy Policy may have included:

identifiers and contact information, such as email address, username, IP address, and provider account identifiers;
account, profile, and preference information;
user-generated content you choose to store or publish through Spellbinder;
internet or network activity and technical diagnostics related to your use of the Service;
communications you send us, such as support messages or contact form submissions.

Spellbinder does not sell personal information for money. Based on the way Spellbinder currently operates, we also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Children's privacy

Spellbinder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. International processing

Spellbinder and its service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
